His last log on was 3/8/2012. No idea why he won't respond to this....surely he's seen that there is an interested party?

I don't know... Sometimes people just get way too busy to check emails and such. I'd keep trying.

And......I'm back. This particular thread begin with"want to trade" and also a price of 600 dollars plus shipping. Through a PM I offered 600 dollars including shipping. Under the circumstances I do not consider this an insulting offer. I figured it would be rejected And I would then negotiate the shipping cost and purchase the guitar. I twice left my phone number and email. So far no response that I am aware of. I guess I'll give it a little more time before I give up, lose interest or just completely forget about the whole thing. I have other ovations to play with so I'll be okay ;» (30 year ovation player who just wanted another one) ;«

Buyer has been trying to sell this for 5+ years at a dirt cheap price. Yet, guitar remains unsold. Hmmm ...

evvignes, I had a general tell me once...

"If you want something bad enough, sometimes thats exactly how you get it."

I think he had heard it from an old wise man in the Mekong delta, and it lost a little in translation, but I think you get the point.

I also told nosajwp that I was willing to sell my Ovation 1990 Elite Deep-Bowl 1868-4,w/OP-24 pre=amp, but he wanted a deep-bowl cutaway Elite with a " more modern" pre-amp, so we never made a deal. I will also seek the elusive 1983 Collectors in my hometown at Easter, as it remains a bit of a head-scratcher to me.

Hi, evvignes,
Mike from Ottawa, Canada here. I made contact through a PM. and nosawjwp did not reply on here. I tried the '05 Collectors at my local Ovation dealer when they first came out at the time. I was not impressed with it, because I prefer mid-depth bowls, but it was still there in 2007, when I was looking for the Limited Edition Standard Elite 6778 LX-VN, like the one Flysig has in his collection. The '05 Collector at my local Ovation dealer was finally sold just last year, sometime between your Columbus Day, and Christmas 2011. When I went to get my Elite serviced just before that weekend in October,( it was/is our Thanksgiving here in Canada), the '05 was still in the store. When I went in again Christmas time to buy some books and accessories for teaching, it was gone. My dealer never got any more Collectors Series in after the '05. File this under ," Things that make you go" Hmmm... that's not right?!"

Mike... A lot of people didn't like the Contour Bowl when it first came out. It took a while to catch-on.
By the time people got used to it, there were many different models out there.
And to be honest... the 2005 isn't really that "eye-catching" when compared to other O's...
And compared to other Collectors' Series of that period.
So I can see how that might sit on the shelf for awhile.

Just sayin'...

As far as I'm concerned, the '05 is the best looking, best sounding wood topped O to ever come out of Connecticut.
It's beauty is in its simplicity. I'm GLAD they didn't add more 'bling'!

Michael R. Seguin, Old man arthur and Muzza:
I appreciate your comments, I do understand not all of them were directed towards me. I was interested in trying a more modern ovation especially 1 with a tuner built in. ( 4 stage use) I appreciate ornate guitars though it is not a big selling point with me. I'm sure the 05 c would look better in person than it does in photographs. As far as the 05 c being the best sounding wood top ovation, my FD14(#11/50) might take issue. Speaking of guitars that are austere yet beautiful. Purchase the f d 14 from a gentleman in canada( yea! canada ;»)
As far as the sale of this 05c goes, apparently if you use the phrase" consider selling for $xx" your not required to do so. I do however give the seller the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes bad things happen and you just can't respond. Thank you for everyone's kind words and support but this thread needs to die.
by the way Muzza, I think your yen yang graphic gave me a seizure.
Evvignes out

I found nosajwp in The Gear Page forum and found that the 2005 Collector's Edition is still for sale, and it's apparently in mint condition. I was originally interested in it, but I had the chance to try a contour body yesterday and it's not comfortable for my current style of holding the guitar. If someone else is interested in the guitar, I think it's a great deal. I had one years ago and loved it.

That guitars been up for trade for longer than anyone cares to remember.
It's well known that they're an excellent guitar and the fact that he hasn't been able to shift it has raised more than a few a few eyebrows.
