Location: Toledo, OH | When I bought my 1995 bass model cc275 I noted that the action was high when you play up the neck. Having owned many basses I reasoned that this could be adjusted. Now I've learned that the shims under the bridge were already taken out and the neck is adjusted to it's limit. A local luthier has told me that older Ovations tend to have the neck sink into the body where they are attached. Is there any cure for this? |

Location: Toledo, OH | I have about 6mm under the B string and 4mm under the G string at the bridge. It's much higher than that at the 12th fret. |

| Who told you the neck is already adjusted to the max? Check the tension on the truss rod... ~3/8" hex / allen key. If your truss rod is not too tight alredady then yry tighten it 1/8 turn at a time.
I bought a used Balladeer recently that was setup for ultra / light strings 11 - 46, I restrung it to medium guage 13 - 56 (a real man's guage LOL)... the truss rod was nearly slack, I ended up tightening the truss rod about 1/4 turn to get the action I wanted.
I moved in tiny tiny steps though ... tightening about 1/16" at a time and re tuning it every time. |
