Hi,

I have recently purchased a solid body Viper from seventies.

It is a great guitar, but it is missing the third screw for the bridge adjustment ( the one accessible form the back).

I would like to purchase one, or at least find the thread and size of the screw so I can order the replacement.
The bridge is one single piece metal type, in chrome.

Thanks for your help.

Best,

Dusan

Dusan, it sounds like the newer bridge which does not have a 3rd adjustment. Please tell me which one of these is the bridge that's currently on it:

If it's the one in the first picture, the all chrome one, it does not have a third screw. Either it's one that was in transition to the new bridges (like mine is), or someone changed the bridge to the newer style after. I would bet the first. When the new bridge came out, the holes were plugged up with a little metal plug. I think you'ree just missing the plug.

If it's the second picture, that bridge uses the 3rd screw.

Damon,
Thank you very much for your reply.
You are right, it is the bridge in the first picture.
The reason I started looking into it was that I wanted to put heavier strings on the guitar, and the saddle on the sixth string is all the way back, so I thought if there was an adjustment screw tilting the whole bridge it would give me that extra string length I need.
I normally have heavy bottom/slinky top set on all my guitars.
I'll put on new set in a day or so, and again ask for help and advice if I get stuck.
