I picked up an old Ovation K-6002 head and powered K-6100 Speaker cab in rough condition but I'm looking for any and all info and who made the speakers (Audient 100 #9702). I haven't been on this forum since before the Fender acquisition but I'm hoping to get this old unit working. I owned one back in the late 60's and this is a fun project to rekindle the memories! I got the head (preamp) working so its a work in progress.

I just picked up a K-6300 from my brother in Portland, who got it off Craigslist. It is working, but rough. A bit of static and buzz, but I'm going to try to clean it up first and see if that takes some of the crackling out. It's missing the Ovation logo on the front. I think they said "Ovation Li'l Dude", but I'm trying to find a closeup. There's nothing little about it. I was barely able to carry it up the stairs and figured I'd be pushing my luck if I asked my wife for help.

I need to recone or replace the speakers. It seems someone dropped the cabinet and the magnet came unglued and the coil damaged one of the two 12' speakers. The others leads were broken to the cone so I'm hoping to identify the source (Eminence, Utah, JBL, etc) to get a reconing kit from available resources. The driver for the single horn is also missing! Yes, its beast to move around.

Try a search on this forum for "Audient". It seems like someone else asked a while ago about replacing the speaker. Miles (Mr. Ovation) had a lot of Ovation electric stuff and might have a suitable replacement.

I found someone who posted a similar question on DIYAudio forum but got no replies. As I looked at the frames on these, they don't appear to be those by Eminence, Utah etc, who tend to make simpler less sophisticated speakers. These have some very nice aluminum cap screws to secure the wires and a rubber damper ring on the inner edge of the outer frame. I've seen Altec speakers with similar construction or maybe JBL??? Audient by name comes up as an Audio component manufacturer but no mention of speakers unless it was a short lived venture.. Appreciate the response.

I was talking about a search on this site. Click on the Search button up at the top left and enter Audient. You'll find some threads, including one you were in, where Miles and TJ both said they had speakers and Miles asked you to PM or email him. He might have the exact replacement speaker.
