I had an old brown case with several cracks and fixed them with 2-component epoxy. If you want to strengthen the crack a little you may carefully remove the case inlay and add some glas fibre on the inside together with the glue and then re-glue the case inlay over it. I did this before, too.The good thing is that the repair is almost invisible.

DetlefMichel - Did the case inlay come out easily, without damaging it?
I have the same issue with a case, but was hesitant to remove the inlay, thinking I may do more harm than good.

I haven't ever tried, but it seems it would be similar to repairing a vinyl dash on a car. There are lots of repair kits available for that.

I've used Shoo-Goo with good success.

I have tried to remove the inlay once to harvest some latches for another case. That stuff is glued in there pretty damn good. I ended up tearing the shag-a-lichous carpet quite a bit and gave up before I completely destroyed the case. I've seen brown cases on Music Go Round for as cheap as $40 before so they aren't hard to find that's for sure. Some clear epoxy would hold that if you prepped it properly so the surface had some bite.
