Hi

I`m a bass player obsessed by guitars (?), so i got a few, but this 1511 is my first acuostic guitar for many years. I was quit sure that it would be a ovation, usa from 70-80. So i went on ebay and bought a couple. I got a lovely balladeer, deep bowl and electric for a reasonably price. But this one, the 1511 was pretty bad...even thouhg i knew the modell (some kind of futuristic neck without truss, and plywood) but anyway, i got it cheap. But, bought as playable and delivered with a loose saddle and three brooken braces.... Seller didnt wanna discuse anything, but thats another story! Well, i decided to fix it, cant just waste it even though it will cost me a lot, in case the rest indicates this would be ok guitar.

Questions: I measure the relief to 1,5-2 mm (0,04-0,08 without strings) Pretty much? Will the neck bend a lot under string pressure. if it does its gonna back uphill from 7 fret? s this relief normal and would it get a playable action on thoose frets? It also have some heavy fretwear, and replacing fixing that would not be done if the neck is way to bendt!

And if so, i see a few ovation necks on ebay, did ovation use same neck fitting (dovetail/ bolts) on guitars from same era, or are they diffrent. So, would a balladeer neck from 80 fitt in this neckpocket? Lenght and scale the same. would a shallow bowl neck fit deep bowl?
And yes, i would be parts-ovation, but playable and adjustable. ( dont know if ovationism allows unorginal modifications like this )
Anyone knows anything about this!

welcome johan.

I'm a guitar player that has a few basses (including an Ovation Magnum)

there are only a few people that can respond in this section, so i've updated you to a full member. Maybe repost your questions in the main or bottom feeder sections.
