Sliced my left index finger yesterday and can't play a thing. Maybe time to check out a slide?

I sliced open a fretboard finger a couple weeks ago. When it happenend the FIRST think I thought of was... "Ack!! My guitar hand!!!"
It cost me one practice session. And that just put me one practice session further away from fame & fortune.

You guys shouldn't play with matches either, by the way.

It's in the water: Over the weekend I learned that My buddy Jeff Burns did the same thing (razon on left index finger). He says he's can still do pretty well with Neil Young's solo on "Cinnamon Girl" :(

2 yrs ago I sliced the tip of my right hand index finger off with a mandoline. I was kind of freaked out when I couldn't figure out a way to stop the bleeding. Nurse practitioner in the ER had the quote of the day, "All bleeding stops...eventually." Now I wear a glove made of stainless steel wrapped with kevlar.

The thing is, I found out I can play just as well with 3 fingers as 4 :D

It all heals in time. Cut part of the end off my left ring finger almost two months ago now.

I've been able to play on it for about two weeks now but still only have a callus on half the tip....so some chords, slides, and bends are tricky.

Never walk away from a mistake without taking the lesson: Once again I have learned, don't listen to the wife. She learned: don't talk to me when I have a knife in my hand....or dinner will be late.

Dentures work really great for making that design around the edge of a pie crust. :D
