Location: Hot Springs, S.D. | I just got a call from someone who owns an 1111-1 from 1968 or thereabouts. (Serial number starts with a "G".) He bought it used in the early 70's from a wealthy couple who later wanted to buy it back, but he kept it.
Anyway, it came in a chipboard case and in the case was a CSN&Y set list with the names Dallas Taylor, who played drums for them, and Greg Reeves, who played bass for them (but he also played guitar).
So anyway, the guy is looking for the insurance value on the guitar. He says it's in good shape except for one small ding and one scratch. I know there is no way to PROVE it was once owned by any of these famous musicians, but does anyone know if CSN&Y ever played Ovations? |

Location: 6 String Ranch | It is probably worth $5 more than another of the same. Now if it was "signed" it would be half as much. |

Location: NJ | Crosby, Stills & Young were ALWAYS into Martins (in a BIG way). For th'past few years, Crosby would play an Olson from time-to-time. Nash was always into Gibsons (& sometimes a Martin). |

Yeah - Stills and Young made out like bandits buying pre-war D-45's in the 1960's - for probably a couple of hundred dollars. Those guitars are worth a couple of hundred THOUSAND dollars now -
