Location: CT | I saw this clip posted on another music forum site and thought it might be of interest here. Looks like he is playing a 12-string Ovation, but It sounds like a six string. Could Glen have been good enough to use just half of the strings available to him, or is it an overdub?

Location: Indiana | This is a bad screen grab of the steel string version. You can just make out that "Glen Campbell" is stenciled over the pick guard/snot blob area. Also interesting, not only does this have the same type of volume wheel through the face but also EQ faders as well. Anyway, cool guitar.

Location: Indiana | Sorry Jay, never played a 63. My Viper is a 68 steel string. Plugged in, I would expect the 63 to be a lot like the Gibson CA-Chet Atkins chambered sound, which is a great working instrument. I've had some experience with that guitar on stage.
Unplugged, obviously, SSBs can at least be heard in a living room or acoustic round. Viper's are pretty worthless. |
