Can someone enlighten me as to what the difference is between the 1818 and the 1818E strings?

Is it the 'cryogenic treatment of the strings?

Thanks,

Brad

I think the E is for Environmental packaging.

What?! The cat at Guitarget told me the 'E' meant "echo" and I'd get a pseudo-reverb effect if I used those strings...sort of a slightly more plush sound, not quite chorus-y, but, well, fuller. You think he was pulling my leg?

Either he was pulling your leg or you're pulling ours. I'm not sure which. Anyway, I actually didn't just pull E = Environmental out of thin air. I checked juststrings.com, and that's the term they use.

E is Environmental in 3 sleaves instead of 6.
The packaging a pain in butt if you have change a broken string at a gig.

E is for environmental. The different model numbers were so the inventory could be tracked better, you know, first in, first out.
