Joined: March 2002 Posts: 255 | Just wanted to say thanks for the words !! you guys are great and a customer and good friend helped make me forget!!!!! sorry about my ramblings .. Im not suppose to be here I dont think?? THE TOMMY EMMANUEL STORY by Lisa Talabac.. Ovation owner as well!!! Well, first off let me say that my intention was to show him Our Guitar at the workshop but I never got the chance to personally approach him with it and here's why. (Aww..don't worry, story gets better from here on) Ok......As I sat amid the other 50 acoustic players waiting for the workshop to begin, there from the other side of the room was Tommy Emmanuel selecting a few nice guitars in the crowd to "take notice of" (None of them were anything like mine). Then as he was getting closer to my side of the room, I began the "countdown" in my head. I just Knew it was coming, so I sat there in quiet confidence and just watched his face. Then....BAM!...our guitar caught his eye and he freaked out!! hehehe He took a double-take, his eyes bugged out and he came toward me like a bee going after honey! He then politely RIPPED it out of my hands in front of the whole crowd and began to admire it out loud like he'd never seen anything like it before probably because he never has! He began spinning it back to front several times and making several really nice comments. His first comment was, "Who makes this?" as if it was a company. I told him it was not a company but made by a luthier named YOU and told him and those who were near me a little about you. Some other comments he made were "WOW....This is furniture!" I explained a little about the keyway holes and braceless back etc. He was really dazzled. He checked it out all over..the neck, the angle of the neck and everything else. He commented that "this is Really Really nice work. This guy (meaning you) is a real artist. I'll bet it took him 3 months to make". I told him it took you 1 month and then he freak out again and so did everyone else! Then all the other people were all staring at it and many asked me questions which I answered and then gave them your web address. So Kev, you were the star of the Tommy workshop for the first 10 minutes which of course made me the princess who owned it! hahaha Do I know how to pick Luthiers or what???? Told you I'd work the room for ya! Huggs....Lis http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa237/hiawatha444/Tommyandnewgui... http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa237/hiawatha444/Tommyandnewgui... | ||
