I have at least two dozen guitar cables. Probably more. Some are excellent quality and very expensive. Most aren’t. The one I dislike the most is a long tweed covered cord that seems to tie itself up in knots just laying on the floor. The one I use most often is a self-coiling model sold under the Fender label that I purchased in the late 1970's or early 1980's. Probably paid $5 for it. It is thick and industrial looking, but it works well and stays off the floor. Anything that sits on the floor gets stepped on, walked upon, sometimes even tripped over, and always ends up totally filthy at the end of the gig. None of this happens with a self-coiling model.

I have two Fender 'vintage tweed' guitar cables and mine, also, seem to knot themselves up just sitting there. Maybe that's a design feature.

I have a couple of these.

Bullet Cable

They are extremely heavy and well built for a coil cable.
