I am glad I found this board and hope you may be able to help me. Several years ago, I bought my son a used Balladeer 1111 off ebay after doing some research. The guitar sounds awsome and now I would like to buy an ovation also as my first guitar. I am looking at several right now, early 1111, 1112-4. early acoustic Legend, 1862c acoustic electric Balladeer, 1761 Aoustic electric balladeer and lastly a 1612-2 Acoustic electric. Now here are my questions: Are the acoutic only ovations like the 1111 and 1112 going to output more sound than an unplugged 1612 or 1761. How do the 1612, 1761 and 1862 compare in sound both amped and unplugged. Are any of these ovations more desirable than the others and if so, why. I appreciate the help, I am really looking forward to getting an ovation for myself.

I also understand the 1612 does not have an equalizer on the preamp. Is that a problem compared to the newer 1761?

I'd look for an old "x" braced Balladeer or a used Elite t or Legend lx

Thanks for the input Jeff, I assume these are a couple of others that are currently listed that fall into that catagory, are any of these standouts over the others?

That would be about as nice as an Ovation sounds. 15 hours left. Don't think...wait till there's 30 seconds left and snipe it!
