I paid $525USD for my 1768 elite in absolute mint condition with hard case and I've got no complaints, if that's any good to ya.

It is an SSB. I gave $650 for mine with OHSC, both in excellent (near mint, although the fleaBayers would call it "minty fresh!") condition four years ago. Compared to the prices on the MarTayGibDers, it was a bargain. YMMV.

I played my black 1988 1768 on the road for nearly 10 years...6 and 7 nights per week...no problems and GREAT sound...OP-24...I wish I had never sold it...SSB's are meant to be plugged in...thats the concept for them as I understand it...and it works very, very well!!! My snakeskin T-Bolt plays fantastic pluged in and sounds very nice acoustically as well abet at a lower volume...the SSB is a great idea and the 1768 is a great elite. What color and year Jason?
Blessings...

I actually like the 'sound' of the OP-24 in my 1868 slightly more than the 'sound' of the 1681 two-knobber. Although I can't explain why.

If that's a -4 finish, Jason, in excellent condition with OHSC for $400 and I didn't already have one, I'd jump on it. Principal of substitution...what other A/E guitar can you get for $400 and how does it compare to an 1868?

If it comes with the case, yes it is a good deal.

op-x natural finish, minor fret wear. i could have the frets looking new in about a hour. i went and played it today. i was in the aera and took my limited to try out a few pedals(read play with a big tube amp and a full stack..lol) yes comes with original case and hang tags i do belive.

this is the first ssb ive played that had the balls unplugged that my old 1567 ssb legend did. its a nice guitar but there is a older tak classical a/e that caught my eye. might make my self a nice birthday present. thats cmoming up monday..lol its at the only guitar shop within 50 miles. .....jason
