This guitar is close to being finished, the neck is in one piece and was straightened. Bracing pattern caused that the top started to go down with the age. that part of wood glued on the left side is not original... it came here after some amateur - repair. The only thing which keeps luthier from assembling guitar together is top, which is very resistent for attempts of leveling it. I think it will be neccessery to add some additional bracing which would keep the top straight. ok. now the pictures: ![]()

It looks like there's a crack in the wood in that area on yours. I'm not a luthier, but perhaps that would be a good place to start.

I think the original braces run with the grain to let the top resonate more and the cross brace might kill that effect. Did he give any reason for the added lower bout brace? Just my .02. Could be completely off base.

I want to trade my Strat to him for few interesting guitars, including Custom Legend 1869, Ovation Classic 1763 and 1992 Collectors Edition, and other guitars. On one side, he wants my Strat, and i want his guitars, but on the other i know that my Strat is probably still worth more than those.
