I have a early 80s Legend and I am thinking about buying a Ovation 1624.I'm doing this long distance so I'll just relay what the owner told me.This is an early model with just the volume control on the top of the guitar next to where the neck meets the body. The volume control is gone and there is just a hole there.Inside the guitar there is no box to where the volume control would be hooked up to.The owner says the only thing inside the guitar is the wire running from the jack to the pick-up under the saddle.
Inside my Legend there is a box under the volume/tone control which I assume is the pre-amp
which then runs to the 9 volt battery, then to the jack and saddle pick up.Does the 1624 have a differnt set up or is the guitar just missing it's electronics? Any info ASAP would be great.

Jason-

I'd like to get a 2-knob FET preamp to experiment with. Wouldn't need to be working. Let me know if you have any extras and what you want for them, or maybe a trade for some of my junk, oops I mean fine vintage items.

Did you come up with any pre-amps?

Jason if you don't have a 2-knobber for numbfingers, send him my way.
