Now somewhere in the black mountain hills of dakota
There lived a young boy named rocky raccoon
And one day his woman ran off with another guy
Hit young rocky in the eye rocky didn’t like that
He said I’m gonna get that boy
So one day he walked into town
Booked himself a room in the local saloon.

Very Profound!

Although the Beatles deserve all the recognition they receive because they influenced American rock and roll like no other band in America and led the British Invasion, there's no comparison between these two choices. BTW, happy 40th to SPLHCB!

DSOTM is by far one of the greatest albums of all time. As one member wrote, Pink Floyd is timeless. Not that the Beatles play second fiddle to any band because they produced some very good songs.

But, no single album can cross generations and cultures as well as DSOTM as a COMPLETE album. There are songs on SPLHCB that are timeless, but not the entire album.

I recently watched the making of DSOTM on VH1. By far one of the best short music documentaries made. Fascinating to learn some very obscure factoids about it and listening to band members, producers, and mixers discuss the project (Alan Parsons pun) was soul satisfying.

Thanks for the opportunity to revisit my admiration for one of my favorite albums. BTW, if anything happened to my DSOTM CD, I would gladly play SPLHCB or the White Album (my favorite Beatles album - as mentioned by other members).

Regards,
Mark

Contractual obligations....

Not everything is profound.
Sometimes a song about a picture your kid drew, is a song about a picture your kid drew, and a song about cheating on your wife from a rockstar point of view is that and no more.

Let me give one vote for the White Album as my favorite beatles album.

As for my favorite rock album, I'd say, London Calling by the Clash.
