It's way more amp than I'll ever need so I'm going to sell it for her. But I have no idea what it's worth. It works great. I plugged my Shen Jr. into it & wowee! It really rocks the neighborhood! It has two speaker outputs & a place to plug in a pedal for the Distort. The speaker cab is really stout too. Everything has metal re-inforced corners. I'm not sure what kind of speakers are in it but it will make my 1612 sound like a bass fiddle. Any clue as to actual power output or ballpark value would be appreciated. Thanks, ![]()

They are really good amps that are built like gricks and last forever. I use my Sunn Concert Lead amp with an Avatar cab for my keyboards and it literally ROCKS the house!

It has a circuit breaker now, & it has a three prong plug, so I'm sure at some point the amp has been worked on. After considering the fact that I'm going to be storing the big monster for the forseeable future anyway, I just decided to give her $400 for the whole shebang & use it for a while out in my shop. If somebody offers me enough for it at some point I'll sell it & give her anything I get over $400. She really needs money for doctor & hospital bills right now. Hell, I'll be retiring from the ol' body shop in a few years, maybe I'll start playing out for something to do & I can use it.

Personally, I think it was OK in its time, but it's really not built that great. There's about 2 dozen wire connections on the circuit boards that just push on, and they were loose and oxidised on mine. The main board was clipped to the chassis with some plastic clips that were aged and brittle as well. By now any amp this old probably needs a cap job, mine did. Soundwise, it's okay, punchy and sorta warm but runs out of power way too easily. I'd gladly take 200 for mine (though the face on mine isn't as clean as the one in the OP's picture). No way I'd give $400 for one... Be aware Sunn went out of business years ago and some parts for this amp are impossible to find. There's a funky transformer to couple the output stages, and the volume/tone/distort pots are impossible to find should they become worn and scratchy. (Fender resurrected the Sunn name a few years back but they didn't support the old stuff).

Whatever I get back will be nice but I've been giving her C notes every time I see her for quite a while now. She is in dire straights, both financially & emotionally.

My Sunn Concert Lead which I use for bass is pristine and has never hiccupped in 30+ years. If I had to choose the one amp that is built like a brick and likely never to die, the Sunn would be the one.
