Balladeer: 1111, 1112, 1611, 1612, 1711, 1771, 6771, S771 Legend: 1117, 1119, 1617, 1667, 1619, 1669, 1717, 1719, 1777, 1779 Elite: 1537, 1718, 1778, 6778, S778 The models where the third digit is a 6 or 7 are the cutaway deep bowls. There are special models too such as the Anniversary 1657 and Collectors 1982 and 1987.

Otherwise the factory tends to just put on a label with a model number that is "close". For example, I had a wideneck custom legend built and they put a Folklore label on it. I guess because it had a wide neck. The new Koa slothead guitars have an Elite model number on them. Go figure. I tried to order guitars with NO labels and even pay EXTRA for the honor, but they would not do it. There is some label nazi that ensures all guitar must have labels. Stupidest thing I ever heard of (other than having to plug in your guitar to make the tuner work). Ovation does a GREAT job on the first 95% of the process. Dave

I've considered buying an old wrecked 1111 or similar and sticking its foil label in my 05. (I'll stick it right where the FRG sticker was) The old labels were so much classier than the paper ones. But we know that.

Thanks Heather | ||
