I just got this guitar. Along with the surface cracks, and a chunk chipped outta the top...
It has circular cracks in the bowl...
Like someone sat on it or sumpthin'...
The guy said that the cracks didn't go all the way through,
but of course he is gonna say that.

Believe it or not, it sounded good with two-year old strings, so I bought it (don't ask)

Anyway, I am just now gonna take off the strings, dust it out, and shine a flashlight around in there. I just looked in there, and there really is a pile of dust in the bottom! 2 years worth!

First Question: Do the bowls get superficial cracks in them? Like just in the bumpy stuff?

As with ALL my new/used projects,
All Advice Is Greatly Appreciated!
Educate Me

Yeah Jason, drag about that. But I am always interested in Luthiery Adventures.

I'll let you know what I find once I get off this computer, and into that sound-hole.
[my arm don't quite bend as well as I'd like either]

Well, changed the strings, looked and felt around inside.
The bowl cracks don't go all the way through...
But one of the "Surface Cracks" does... Goshdarnnit!

But the guitar still sounds nice.
So just like my advice to PEZ about his cracked Balladeer, I'm just gonna keep it for a beater.

Strange tho'... The thing really does sound NICE!
What do I know... :p
