I'm looking for a really good arrangement for Greensleeves for classical guitar. I've got to play it in church with the bells and there's a call for a solo. I've found the basic tab arrangements but was hoping to find something a bit more fun and interesting. Anybody have anything?

I've got a couple Christmas books at home but their predominantly piano arrangements.
I seem to remember AcousticGuitar offering a tabbed arrangement in an issue about a year or two ago, when I get a chance, I'll check at home (y'might wanna research their archives online).

Y'can also check OLGA under the author's name (HenryVIII), but I doubt they'd have much. He was overtly prolific . . .

Thanks. Everything I've found is just the easy traditional tab. Not too exciting for playing in public..... I was hoping to find something better....

Hmmmm. It sounds like Cliff regretted his caustic remark and is now trying to smooth things over.

Here's one for piano, that also has the chords listed. Try working the jazzier chords into the simple arrangement that you already have. It takes some time, and probalby some transcription of key, but if you have tab software on your computer you can note everything down as you go. I'm working on something like this for "America the Beautiful."

Not at all.

It'd be better (for everyone concerned) if Moody'd just pay the airfare for Templeman t'come out and play it (tho' I seriously doubt he would) . . .

How about taking one of the simple arrangements (one that you're fairly comfortable with), and making up your OWN little solo passage?

. . y'got time . . .

Try using the chords from the piano arrangement that I posted above.

I'm probably just going to go thru the arrangements bar by bar and do something better. It's just that I'm about the most unimaginative guitar players I know.... I can copy, I can learn, but making it up... well, we'll see.

That's a whole lot better than what I've found so far. What search engine did you use?

.google.

...one warning, though Paul, the arrangement that I found might force you to learn the dreaded, mythical 4th chord... so proceed with caution!

Those aren't chords, they're just spots on the guitar. It's in Dm... I'll have to transpose to Am.... that is assuming I knew what all that meant.

I'm trying to help, Paul. I sent you an email.

Isn't it just a lot easier to hum like the rest of the chior?

Odd. After reading this thread, I have this overwhelming desire to tell someone - anyone actually - to go screw themselves.

Well I could, but I think it's anatomically impossible.

Why you so bent out of shape today? Not like you...

Paul, I have always liked the way Mason Williams plays it. He might even have an arrangement published.
