Stopped in the local pawn shop today. The sign out front said 25% off all musical instruments.

They had an Ovation Ultra looked like a deep bowl
sunburst finish,(I guess thats what attracted me), top was in real good shape and the action was a little higher than I like but not bad.Fret board was in good shape. I think it included the hardshell case. I didn't check out the electrics.

Sticker price was $525 with the sale would make it $393.75. This seems about $100 too high.

Am I right?

USA or Korean? High either way, but way high for the asian model.

Speaking of the Ultra, a pawn shop in the area has a 1517S. The rosette is inlaid abalone, I really couldn't tell if the top was laminated, but from the comments of those here who know about such things it must be.
Does the S stand for special? What made the S different from the D?

"S" generally means Solid top. "D" is for Deluxe.
