Location: kansas | I have an Applause AE48 (made in China)that has tuners with "Ovation" stamped on them. I'm Ok with these tuners, but I wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to a Grover, Schaller or Gotoh tuners?
BTW - are the "Ovation" tuners made by Ping? |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | Yes, Ovation tuners are usually Pings. I was just looking at some replacement Pings on a bubble-pack card at a shop and the card had something on it about Ping having an affiliation with KMC, so I would not be surprised if ALL Ovation, Takamine and Hamer tuners are Pings.
If the tuners work OK, I agree with Dave, just leave them alone.

I'm not sure about other Ovation models, but my balladeer's tuners are pings. It hasn't given me any problems either, so I'm leaving it as is.
Peace! |
