Buckaroo, welcome to posting on the board, try setting your browser address right to www.ovationfanclub.com and/or try this link Ovation Fan Club

That should show you the sidebar with more links, the "Member Access" link gets you into the Photo Gallery and more. Images must come from a web page to add to the posts, so you can create a gallery in the Photo Section and upload photos there and then use the properties of the uplaoded photo to insert into the posts. You have to use the "Full Reply Form" to get the "Image" insert button, also gets you the "Quote", "URL", etc. options. The "Quick Reply Form" does not have these options. One other thing about the sidebar, if you click on the "Ovation Fan Club, Get Plugged in" logo at the top it sends you to a page that just has the most recent posts...

Curious, where are you in North Texas? I'm here in Cowtown and tten is nearby in Keller and George Dubick is up in Denton. Xnoel is nearby up in Oklahoma. We've all gotten together at my place and are just itchin' to have another gathering. We had a big get togther last spring near Palestine, TX. Had Mtnbkrfred from California and Hizzoner from Converse and our local Ovation rep, Mike Stephens made it and brought several guitars we drooled over. And a bunch of my Kerrvert friends from the Kerrvile Folk Festival crowd. Hope to do it again next spring...

I started posting (barely) when all I owned was a Celebrity and a old Hamer I've had forever. As "Mark In Boise" says: "Watch out!" I have since been to one tour and now own a 1867 Legend, a 1615 Pacemaker 12-string, an Applause mandolin, an EAB-68 Viper bass... And check out the "Baby Blue" post for my latest GAS relief!!!

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the info. I clicked on your link and went to the main window. The gallery came right up and I looked at some 1624s. There are several in the group.
We live out west of Ft.Worth in a small town called Springtown. Back in my bar days, I played in the juke joints along highway 199, also known as the Jacksboro Highway. Though I don't perform much anymore, I still go and play, now and then, at the Cowtown Opry on Sundays. There is a new Opry venue in River Oaks. I got an invitation to play there, but I have not done so, yet. The owners said I could perform without having to audition because I'd been recommended by some folks they know in the business. That's cool. I was not not aware that anyone even remembered me, since it's been a while since I've been "out there".
I'd enjoy a git together, I'm not very good but I play loud. I sing a bit, those old C+W tunes, but anymore, I mostly do my own stuff.
I bid on that ebay 1624, but I've yet to hear from the seller. If things go right, I'll have a nylon A/E Ovation, which will make me happy, happy, happy. I've always wanted one. I'm hoping the axe is not worn out, or tore up.
When I get some photos, I'll put them in the gallery. Thanks again, and keep in touch. Buck

Hey Buckeroo,
Glad you finally told us where you are. I used to live in Springtown, in fact we lived there when our oldest daughter was born, 1964. Had relatives there at the time.
Good luck on your search for a nylon string.

Xman, This must have really been a small town when you lived here. Did they even have a traffic light? There are three now, we're big time! The oldest daughter graduated in '86 from Springtown High. We all came out here from So.Cal back in '76. It was like stepping out of a time machine into an earlier era.
I'm not sure the seller of that 1624 wants to make a deal, I still have not heard a peep. The guitar has been listed twice and has only gotten one bid. I'm going to verify that all is on the up and up before cutting loose of the coin. I do think the guitar will suit my needs, but I won't be heart broken if the deal falls through. There is always another good deal. With shipping, the cost will be $276.85. I'm not sure if that's a bargain, or not, because I've not shopped for this variety of Ovation before. What do y'all think? All the Best, Buck

Yeah, it was pretty small then. We lived on the north side of town on highway 51. On the east side of the highway is the big Baptist church building, on the opposite side of the street there is another Baptist building, that is where our house used to be.

I wish I could say the town has changed for the better, but that would be fibbing. Back in those days there was one lady running the city hall(Euradine), and one cop (Walt). Nowadays, there are as many city "officials" as there are residents. Things change. It's still a nice place to live, but not as quiet as in yesteryears.
