About a year ago Ovation announced a reissue of the model 1627 Glen Campbell Artist Balladeer. Did anyone here buy one? Or even see one? Oklahoma Vintage sold 2-3 of them so I know they existed. Could turn out to be a rare bird. Dave

Dave, was it the artist-bowl GC or the deep-bowl??? I remember seeing a deep-bowl no-cutaway 6-string GC reissue a year ago--never got to play one, but I saw them on eBay(where else?).

They were the Artist depth bowl -- 5 1/8" deep.

Thanks, Paul, I didn't catch that, I thought it was a deep bowl. Strikes me that it was a limited release like the FD-14, only 100 or so. I think Oklahoma Vintage was who I saw selling them on eBay.

Paul, are you sure about the bowl? Seems I remember thinking that it wasn't really a good re-issue because it didn't have the Artist bowl. It was basically a deep Legend with GC TRC. I can't imagine Ovation had Artist bowls made in such small qualtity just for this guitar, since nothing else in the line uses them. I could be wrong. (Probably am - but usually arn't). MC&HNY.

I was told, at Ovation (I think), that it was a shallow bowl. Now, that might have meant that it was a current shallow bowl (just a little deeper than the old shallow bowl), but I don't think it was a deep bowl.

Current shallow bowl? Now I'm totally confused. I thought there was only 5 bowl depths - Supershallow, Artist, Mid, Deep and Adamas deep. Now you're telling me there is/was a not-so supershallow but shallower than the artist? Oh man ...
