Just took a few snaps of the Ultra GS my sister gave me a few years back and that Miles has helped me identify and is so kind as to take a look at it for me for a few of the "age spots" this guitar has.

There is another post I made detailing some of the little complaints this guitar has for being a 20 year old piece of equipment. Overall, it still sounds very nice and it works pretty well.

List of oddities:

Missing Tremelo bar on Kahler bridge
Odd sounding third string (cause unknown, hopefully something easy to fix when Miles takes a look)
5-way selector shorting out, weak 3rd pick up.
3 screws to the fine tuner at top of neck are missing.

Now, this is how the thing was handed down to me and I have kept the GS stored in the case I have for it other than the rare times I actually try to play it. But, if you want to see what one of these guitars looks like stock, mine has apparently never been modded.

Gonna go upload those photos to a site now and post a link to them here.

Thanks,

That should come in handy for the flyer arm it is missing. Miles is already going to be able to get ahold of one for me and he actually is not so far from where I live. So, when he gets one I will be showing him the guitar in the flesh. You all will have to settle for this pictures. Right now, the axe needs some cleaning because I didn't want to use any polish or cloth until I knew what to use on it. So, forgive the smudgies.

Nice looking guitar. I had a good time cleaning up Project Viper (note to self: pictures!) and I'm sure you'll enjoy the GS. I like the blue metallic paint job.

Thanks. Yeah I am really looking forward to heading out to Miles' studio and getting the GS back to normal as possible, and then seeing the look on my sister's face when I hand it back over to her all nice and cleaned up and with all the missing pieces back on it. I've done my best to keep it in the condition I received it in, but as I have played it and the course of time the wiring problems or loose connections have gotten worse. So, I never really play it amped anymore.

I love the way this guitar looks and feels in my hands when I play it. The curved back of the neck really helps me play it better than I can the guitars with flat necks. The really low action helps me as well. So now it is time to show the guitar some love and try to clean it up.
