Board members helped me I.D. it as 1613 and said it was worth the tag price of $139. This was 150 miles from my house. I was back there today and it was still there. As I was standing back looking at it, another guy walked up took it down and started playing it. My heart fell! He put it back up and left. One of the employees asked me if I was interested and when I said "Yes", he said, "A guy told me he would give me $60, but he never came back." I offered him $50 and he countered with $60 out the door, i.e no tax. I plugged it in, it worked! I walked out with it! Obviously, for that money it is not perfect, but it sure sounds good, both ways. I am a happy guy tonight! It needs: vol. and tone knob (stacked) the two pins that go at either end of the pickup. Anyone have such for sale? Also adjusted truss rod, neck was pretty low in the middle. Now with a straight edge on the frets, about .017 clearance between 7th fret and string. Does this sound about right? noel (its been a good day)

Congrats on the deal of the decade. Keep us posted, and post it on the Gallery. Frohliche Weinachten to you, too! St. Nick arrived early!

I do have two amps, will research past posts. Will also research string, brand and loop vs ball end. Learning about your guitars is such fun! noel

Have you checked the serial # to see what year it is? As far as the (minor) missing parts you can call Kim at the Mothership and I'm sure he can fix you up with everything you'll need! (maybe even a "Y" cord) * * * * Congrats and post us some pics!!!.......btw,ball end nylon strings are for sissies!!! Mike ;)

The tone will be better and I think that the better nylon strings don't come with ball ends. I tied my first nylon loops on a couple of Country Artists I sold to Serge, and it was a good experience. I found numerous websites with instructions. Once you tie a couple, the rest are simple. Contact Kim Keller or John Budny at Ovation Customer Service for the plastic bridge pins. Maybe they even have a concentric control for you, too. Great story!

It is also almost New Years and I think we should have a "Deal of the Year" award, that you will win handily. If we do it every year then members can start prowling the pawnshops and music stores in quaint villages looking for next year's award. Annd the satisfaction that goes with it. Bailey (Would you take $35 for that piece of junk right after New Year's Eve, huh, huh. You would at least get some of your money back and I can use it for starting fires in my fireplace.) ;)

I don't know about that Bailey, after UPS insurance paid off I got my 1115 Pacemaker absolutely FREE! I don't even see the little hairline checks in the finish or the cracks in the case any more. Great score though xnoel! Congratulations! :) Merry Christmas everyone!
