Hi Y'all I'm new to the board so pardon me if this is redundant. I'm thinking of buying a 1981 Adamas II with the two knob style preamp system. Are these systems still sufficient or should/can it be upgraded? I'll be using it for dropped open tunings and want a super fat bassey tone. Is this a good choice or should I look towards a longneck or a baritone. Thanks, cheers

First choose the guitar you like - feel, sound, playabilty, looks, etc. Pre-amp can always be upgraded, although in the case of the A2 dual knobber would require some cutting. I had my 2 knobber upgraded to the FD-14 direct out pre-amp and like it very much. No cutting required for that one.
