Location: Canada | I am new to ovation guitars and don't know alot about these guitars.
Some time ago I had a friend of mine brought me a 1767 elite I do believe. It was suppose to be a special model made for record producers and people within the music industry that ovation gave out.
I was told there were only 30 of these made. Written on the neck was 1964-1994. I am questoning this because I thought ovation started in 1966??? Apparently there was another one all in pieces at the ovation factory that was put together recently. This was the guitar that my friend had an wanted me to look at.
I had a chance to buy this guitar. So before I would I wanted to find out more info about the guitar. I searched and searched the web but I could not find a single thing on it. I was very suspicious about this and I never bought it.
THe sound was awesome both unplugged and plugged in. The color of the guitar was a brownish kind of color with gold keys. Did anyone ever hear of these guitars???? Or is someone just pulling me leg as well as my friends leg???
Any info would be greatly appreciated |

Location: Phoenix AZ | 1767 is a deep bowl Legend cutaway. Is it possible you have model 1768 ??? This could be the Book Elite which says 1966-1996 on the fretboard. Dave |

Location: Canada | Dave I think you are right. I checked the picture gallery that you have there and it looks like the 1768 elite model. Although it is not that color. This one is more of a dark brown.
Do you know if there are only 30 of these ever made???
Thanks for the info!!! |
