I am wondering? Can anyone tell me if there is a company that makes electric guitar strings that are super long? I am unhappy with the few choices I have for the octave strings on an 8 string bass. And standard Guitar strings just are not long enough to stretch up to the tuning pegs.

There now there's a question that may "Stump the Doctor" so to speak?

I always try to play this game here, but so far I ain't out questioned the collective knowledge of this list yet? Of course that could mean my questions are just not all that bright to begin with! OR????

I think the strings for baritone guitars are longer, don't know if they're long enough though.

Also here is the webpage for what's available from D'Addario as single bass strings.

Allrighty then I found some there But I am curious? What do you do if you own a nice 12 string Bass(Much like that great Hamer Bass Al has for sale!)Where do you buy 12 string sets??? I can find no companies that sell them? Hamer must have their own right? Now a 12 string set musy have some real light gauge strings in there. I'll bet this is where my quest will end. Al If I wanted to buy that Hamer where would I buy a set of strings for it? Through Hamer only?
Guess I didn't stump ya all yet but I got ya ta thinkin!

Randy ;) Whoops too many M's I'll take a mulligan on that one. DA

Only one M in that name by the way.

I found John Pearse strings that I use for the Bari National. I've also seen stores that will have a section for singles with longer windings. But you are right, not an easy thing to come by.

All---right! I'll ask here then Al? Perhaps there are others interested in this odd question and answer thread? What are gauges of the strings? Could I impose upon you to two finger out a list? I am hoping this is where I will find the gauges I am looking for. Would it be in poor tast to ask the price?

Hey Any Bass players reading this?

I know this is cheap tactics "Pimp-en" for Al but that Hamer is a real nice bass! Hamer is a real good quality company. And those headstocks look like nothing else! Only problem is you could put your eye out with it though. Check it out on his site.
I came real close to calling you on that one Al. I got this nutty 8 string Ric thing going or I would-a.

Still in a bid war on ebay for the tiple? Not me, but someone is in a bidding war! I found a couple of cheaper Tiples or at least small guitars with a 10 string slothead that I can make work? I am bidding on these! They will go for a much more resonable amount than that Martin! That I am sure will reach $500-$600 Maybe more??? even with the broken bridge.
