Hello !!!

I just bought a 1868T5 Elite T-Series guitar. I really liked the sound of it.

I do realize that this is a new model realeased in July 2002. It is posted on the Ovation website at web page

I am curious as to why this model is not displayed on any of the other guitar vendors' websites.

Does someone have this same model ?

For those interested in seeing or purchasing one, give a call or shout out to Mark's Music in Denham Springs, LA (just a few miles from Baton Rouge). I played one and it is simply fantastic!! I believe, unless it has been sold in the last couple of weeks, there should be one in stock there.

Interstate music has the Elite T in their extra catalogue that I got last week. I know nothing about Interstate but their description was correct. $799.98 with case.

I got a 1778T about a month ago, and it is by far the best guitar purchase I've made. I played some standard Elites around here and prayed my Elite T would sound as good. I was not let down, and personally prefer it over those Elites.
Mine is a mid-depth black one. When I purchased from Elderly, it was the ONLY Black 1778T I could find anywhere. Sold my Martin to pay for it and have not looked back!

Thanks all.

I bought this at Victor Litz Music Center in Maryland.

I am very happy with this guitar. I hope more people will buy this.

They have another one 1868-Pewter .. This looks Silver like color. Pretty much the same kind.

For those of you who may be interested. In Mars music in Atlanta, there is an Elite T for sale at a discount rate..They are selling off all their inventory as the are "going out of business" ...It was selling for 20% off and was marked at $559.00 with case..Those of you who like these guitars can pick this up cheaper than a catalog store..

Had my first close encounter with an elite T 1778 today @ Tringas Music in Pensacola. I was very impressed. Great acoustic sound and actually had me second guessing my recent purchase of a standard elite 1778. Photos really don't do these instruments justice. I came very close to purchasing this guitar even though I've not even made the first payment on my new elite.

Sorry to dredge up this old thread but I thought it might be better than starting a new one. I just bought a black 1778T (fell in love at first strum). I'm wondering if any of you who got this model way back when are still happy with it. Has it held up it's tone? Has the textured finish stayed on? Stuff like that. Thanks. . .

The finish should hang tough. Maybe get some pick wear for those of you with Willie tendencies.

I've been playing my T out (leading worship) for over a year 3-4 times per week. Everything about this amazing instrument is as perfect as the day I bought it. I did manage to whack the crud out of the edge of the top and chipped off a VERY tiny piece of the black finish. A quick dab of black model paint and viola - good as new! Try fixing something like that on a any guitar not coated with that wonderful black bowl paint ... :D

I fell in love with a 1778T, went to see Al, as recomended on the OFC. He had both 1778 and the 1868T. They both sounded bright and crisp. I wound up taking up the 1878T off his hands. I can describe it as an acoustic, with a very crisp sound, plays like a strat(maple neck) when you plug it in it has an amazing sound. The sound holes on the top (as opposed to the elite) really give it a beautiful sound.

Speaking of The Elite T, does anyone know if this Blue Flame Guitar offered on Musicians freind is an Elite T. Looks Like one, but they are not calling it that. Upper bout Sound Ports, Blue Flame finish instead of red Flame, maple Kneck,
LX Upgrade, But an OP30 Pre-amp, insted of an OP-pro. Just curious.

Yup. Elite T with a wicked cool paint job ... although I personally like the red color of ice cream better.

Thanks Stonebobo,
I thought it looked like one, but since it didn't say so I was leary to put the model name to it.
I'm a Smurfy Blue type of guy. Too bad I just don't have the cashflow to make that happen.

Hi Samson I bought a demo Model Elite 1778T from Al he posted it to the UK arrived within 4 Days mint condition as he had told me it was.

The Tone is music to my ears great Action and as for its colour Black textured look, is in my opinion unconventional which I like. I would recommend this guitar. ;)
