Says it is a Glen Campbell Artist after the name change to Liberty. Was anything else changed besides the name? |

Location: Phoenix AZ | This is a little bit of an odd one. Looks like a standard 1117 Legend, but has been upgraded with a saddle pickup and stacked V/T pre-amp. It's not a Glen Campbell Artist as near as I can tell. |

Location: SoCal | It's a Legend. Who knows where he got "Liberty". And this isn't the first time somebody's looked at the "code" and thought their Legend was a GC Artist. I would guess that the guitar was retrofited at the factory with a different bridge and the p/u and preamp. Stacked knobs didn't come out until the late 70's to early 80's |

Location: 6 String Ranch | OK this putz has several problems.
first he's relying on Gruhn to give accurate information about an Ovation.
Second he's clueless, Liberty?? where did he get that!
third whatever research he did was all wrong since this is clearly a 1617 (I know the lable says 1117) It seems like the right timeperiod preamp.
He may have gotten the year right, does it sound right to you Paul?
The foil lables weren't expensive. The foil was stronger than the adhesive and for some reason retained a memory of being flat. They would in time pull up from the bowl and fall out. They were a bitch to install since the surface under them had to be spotless so no bumps would show. If you didn't get it right you'd have to take it out and clean the bowl and do it again. That adhesive worked really well when it was brand new and would leave realllll sticky residue. A real pain (the voice of experience)
Yes, they were real classy. |
