...Bill,

my Washburn B14 5 string is 18-7/8" Nut to 22nd Fret and 19-3/8" nut to body

I can only imagine the sound projection if a 5-string Banj-"O" had a "salad bowl" Ovation roundback resonator! It would knock all the other band members off the stage! :D

nut to 12 = 13.125"
nut to bridge = 13.125x2=26.25

...that is, I assume you mean the nut on the Banj-"O" neck, not the nut holding it

Right, a 26"ish scale then. I was successful in getting the pear shaped body so we'll see how this project comes out. Probably will take a few months. This should be interesting!

SOOOOOO, time for a report.

Tim, Thank you very much for bringing this to my attention. The guitar is #@*&^&# beautiful! The body is like new and the neck s/b shows fading of the red and very nice curl. It plays and sounds great.

Click on the opening of this thread. It's just like that one. I'll get to posting all of them when I can figger out the camera stuff.

Tim, Where in CA are you? Maybe you need to go by Grover Beach (Saint Luis Obispo) and watch the 5 string being built?

So it's a 2ish hour ride north for you? Maybe you want to check out the 5 string frickenbanjer before it gets sent out east? It's a month or two away at least.

It would have no reason to go there.
We'll work something out.

That's the west coast warehouse for music. Industrial supply has one out there too. Go drop my name and watch them go, "Whooo?"

There's a Kaman Scientific (or something like that on PCH in Long Beach). Also part of the family?
