My 2002 Collectors arrived back from the Mothership today. They leveled & dressed the frets, set the action & made an adjustment to the OP40 so it wouldn't stick in the bucket. I've been test driving it & boy is it sweet!
I'm another low-action freak & when I got the string height where I liked it a couple of frets just didn't sound right before. Tony Calman said "Call Kim Keller". I did, & Kim said "Send it to me."
Now every string sounds perfect all over the fretboard. It is SWELL!
Kim Keller & his people did a wonderful job. It was only at the factory for THREE BUSINESS DAYS & Kim called me the day he shipped it back! Now THAT is service!
Now I know why everyone raves about the Ovation Service Department!
I know you read this board, so THANKS KIM!

Nils, good to hear you are enjoying the guitar. And glad they made it so you could get the electronics out ok. I sure struggled with that. That 2002 collectors is one great looking guitar. I bet it plays like a dream.

Glad to hear it.

Will the Papoose be jealous? :D

I haven't talked to the Papoose since the 2002 got home Mike but I don't think it will care one way or the other. If it does, tuff patooties. I'm happy playing alright Steve. I've been playing the 2002 every chance I get. It's almost like having a new guitar, (only MUCH cheaper) it's that much nicer.
You're right about that OP40 too Paul, that sucker was a hair raising experience the only time I had to get it out. It jumps right out now. Push the button, lift it out. Just like the one in my 1858. Kim said some of the screws were tightened too much on some of the buckets & caused them to distort. That's what caused the sticky pre-amp.
