For anyone who might be interested. Here are some video clips of probably the most famous Ovation player.Played Ovations on stage since 1972 to now.Over 20 million albums sold.Sold out venues all over the world.Probably no one here has heard of him. George Dalaras
The first clip is from a concert in the late 80's.Playing a 1972 country artist. The second clip is Dalaras playing his 1978 adamas 1 in brown finish. He bought it in Germany and used it until the early 90's exclusively on stage along with his nylon string country artist.Hope the video clips download?

Woz, he has many CD's(over 40) but they are in Greek mostly and some in latin/Spanish..Its a ethnic market he caters to.So if you get a CD dont expect it to be like any music youve ever heard before. Its an aquired taste this mediteranian/latin music. The one i would recommend and it also features his adamas 1 in the CD is a live album called "ta tragoudia mou" or "My Songs" in english. Its his first live album and the first time i heard an Adamas.I was hooked on that Ovation sound from that day and had to get an Adamas. This guy is the reason i began playing guitar and collecting O's.I know that he is personally responsible for hundreds of Ovation sales in Greece and thrughout Europe.Having ovations in his hands and on CD's ,DVD's and hundreds of TV specials for over 30 years has inspired many Greek players to pick up ovations. Here is a pic of that album (my songs)

Here is another album cover featuring his Adamas

Sam,

I have always thought that your gallery has the most unique and curious instruments in it. Several of the items you have must have very interesting histories. It would be interesting reading if youever had a chance to set it down!

MWoody,i could write a book about all the Ovations i've had over the years but im just not organized enough.Probably over 300 total.I could not keep them all obviously.I kept some of the rare ones and sold the rest.It has been a blast aquiring some of these guitars and i love my Ovations. Not because they are the best sounding or best looking or best quality. They are like an Old Freind and each have there own personality.
I will always own an Adamas and a couple other O's no matter what...

Sam, I don't know if you've seen, but I took some decent pics of the Deacon you sold me. There are 2 in my gallery.

Very powerful musician Sam. Since I'm too deaf & plagued with tinitus to understand the words to most songs anyway, as long as the music sounds good I'm happy. Hell, it's all Greek to me anyway! :) Thanks.
