I have been waiting almost 4 months for the new Ovation Elite LX and it is scheduled through the dealer I am going to buy from to arrive Sept. 15th. It has been moved back several times and I know I am impatient but feel like a kid days before Christmas. Has anyone else got their Elite LX yet and was it worth the wait?

The second you open that case, you'll be impressed with this beauty. The inlaid wood is just gorgeous. the playability is excellent. I haven't had any need to adjust the action. I don't plug it in much. When I do plug it in, I have a Crate 30 watt acoustic amp. I liked the fact that when I plugged it in I received a fantastic acoustic sound without any adjustment. Some have stated that in the live band mix, they had to turn the volume up all the way to be heard, but I'm not a professional so for me I don't know about that. Obviously, I'm very happy with mine. Four months does sound like a long wait! Hang in there!

I paid $1,600 for it, and had to wait a year. He had lots of instruments in his shop made by other folks, but after watching him at work in his shop and seeing how clearly superior HIS instruments are, I couldn't settle for anything else...no matter how long the wait. You'll feel just like that when you finally get your new Ovation. This is forever. John <>{

I have had little or no adjustment on the pre-amp with a church PA -and I have heard the concerns over the OP Pro but not any conclusive answers! I pulled a shim from mine and the ones in stores are set just a shim too high for me. O's adjust so easy though. At this moment,having just come from a local music store and set a "brand new" 1996 Anniversary Elite in my hands, I am considering selling it. Stand by for another post... While I was out and about I completed the LX set chase. I played the Legend LX, the Balladeer LX, the Elite Standard LX and the Elite LX now! Throw in an Adamas with the luscious shifting red top. Honestly - except for subtle trim and feel and the multi vs. single hole thing - each is worthy and vibrant! Worth a wait!

Elite LX, maybe not trivial, but be thankful you're not a lefty; they won't even start making left-handed LX body O's until they catch up on their right-handed orders...which will probably still be a number of months. I decided to go ahead and order an "old" L-777 Legend ... so I'm waiting patiently, too; will probably see mine around the middle to end of October (but that's better than October of '05 or '06!). ;)

Originally, it was suppose to take three months. I like it better than the Standard Balladeer. Plus. I just ordered through Al P. a new Custom Legend 1779-USA model but there has not been an estimated completion or delivery date set. The waiting is the hardest part! Play On! John L. Not only does it look and play like a million bucks, but it's noticably lighter as well. An added bonus for me these days with my bad back. I'm sure that you will be glad that you waited. The LX instantly became my main guitar.

Sorry... :rolleyes: | ||

Beside the Legend LX, I own a mid bowl Baladeer special and a Legend 12 String shallow bowl. I also have 2 Martins, but no one here wants to hear about them. :rolleyes: Anyway, the Legend LX compares favorably to all of my guitars (and the Martins were more expensive to boot). After some very minor tweaking of the neck, the LX plays and projects as well if not better than the Martins (even unplugged). It's tough to compare it to the 12 string because the shallow bowl does not sound as good unplugged. I do love the way the 12 sounds plugged in and I believe that the shallow bowl helps to cut down on feedback. Like I said, the LX is on outstanding guitar that sounds and looks great. There are some pics in my photo album if you would like to check em out. John

Joined: August 2002 Posts: 623 Location: Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey | I'm waiting 2 full months now for my Adamas MEII to arrive that I have on order with Al. Bless him, as he's been very patient with my frequent "when's it gonna arrive?"-ing him to death. Hard to be patient when there's been no word (until recently) on it's status. It's killing me, especially since it's not a custom order in any way, and normally wouldn't take this long. Meanwhile, I've got gigs coming up to use it at! Apparently Ovation is concerntrating all it's manpower on the backorder of LX's, and well, my order was put aside. Bummer...just counting the days (and minutes). Feel like a herion junkie awaiting a fix. Just tie me off!!!! Johnny

Removed shims....then got a buzz...so I think there is more going on with the neck on my LX....but am confident Kim will get it fixed right. But still have to wait.
