Anything I post today can't be held against me. It's now officially 'allergy/sinusitis' season in my area again...which necessitated my taking some meds (OTC...sorry Al!) My metabolism is such that allergy/sinus/cold meds trip me out, sometimes to the extent that it's like dropping acid (specifically Alka-Selzter Liquigels; not that I would know, really...honest...seriously...well, ok). So, if I offend anyone today...it's Mother Nature's fault.

There's a new mother nature takin' over

Cruster,

Alegra (or Allegra') is helping me hold the balance between slightly snuffled and dripping like a Jack Pine. Scotch Broom and Grass are my nemesis'.

Allegra might be a good name for the next model of Ovation too!

You could always just read posts and not respond!!! (followed by nefarious laughter)

PS - The black kerchiefs made the better nose wipers!

Woody-

Allegra's main plant is right here in Midland, but for some reason it doesn't do anything for me (sinus wise). I have had good luck with Nasacort and/or Flonase (prescription squirter things), but the thing that works best is just plain OTC antihistamines (or at least they work as well as prescription stuff). Unfortunately, I seem to build up an 'immunity' after a couple of weeks.

As far as reading and not replying...that'd be wrong. To quote Lawrence, 'I do believe you could get your ass kicked for saying something like that.'

:)

Been there, done that, stuck it up my nose!

You just have to find what works for you.

That triggered some memories, I had an office in an old motel in Organ, NM, an old mining town at around 5000 feet elevation at the pass through the Organ mountains where I ran a maintenance contracting service. We looked down on Las Cruces and a mile or so east, on the Tulerosa/White Sands Valley on the other side of the pass. A gentleman showed up and took up living quarters in one of the abandoned motel rooms. urns out he had severe allergies and for years he had been escaping the valley pollen seasons by coming up to the old motel above the irritating flora. We had the hundred year old Organ Mountain Lodge next door, where me and my son Charlie and some other mountain reprobates played country and bluegrass, one night Jerry Reed's bus "Eastdown and Bound" showed up and the driver and Reed band member sat in and played banjo with us, he was a steel player in the band who had done the banjo work on the record. We jammed till early morning hours and he camped in one of the motel rooms. When he sobered up he told us he had an argument with Jerry Reed and stole the bus, but was going to get on the straight and narrow and return the bus to where it belonged. Life was good above the pollen line.
