Location: Oregon USA | I have a Magnum II with the six-band equalizer (I think some of them only had three), and some of the slider stems have broken off. Worse yet, a couple of them have developed a scratchy noise that doesn't go away no matter where you move the controls, and cleaning them didn't fix it so I think it's time to replace them.
I looked on the Mouser site and a few other places for a part number that looked about the same physical size, but I can't find an exact match. It's about a 30mm travel slider, 50k audio taper, but all the ones I've seen are a little too wide, or too long, or something. Has anyone replaced these with modern parts before? Or failing that, does anyone have some NOS ones lying around?
I'm toying with the idea of getting a new custom pickguard made and replacing the six sliders with six knobs - it looks doable, but I think I'll try fixing the stock ones first. |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | They are 3-band, but they have one band for each pickup, so there are 6-sliders. The plastic tabs that went on them locked two sliders per tab so it looks like a 3-band unless you look real close.
Email me at mileskb@aol.com if you want a replacement. |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Well I had the 3-band EQ correct... I kinda guessed at the extra pots... One heck-of-a pre-amp no matter what does what. |
