Location: Fayetteville, NC | Mike at last check, The Legend Nylon had a cedar top and I believe the Country Artist Special which is a plain version of it's Big Brother.
Don't know if they are still making those or if they are still using cedar or not..But I believe as of last year they were.
Not Sure what other models they made using cedar..but someone here is bound to know. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Some classicals had cedar tops, some had spanish pine, and others had spruce. The exact models and dates escape me. Oh yeah - The Folklore Deluxe has a cedar top. I don't believe any current products have cedar, nor do I ever think there was a 1624 in cedar. Of course I could be wrong. |

Location: SoCal | In the early 90's Ovation made the Custom Balladeer with a cedar top. They also offered the Elite with a cedar top.
And who can forget the Elites that were tried with half spruce and half cedar tops? |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | Yes, there is a S771 with a cedar top. Guess you didn't see the topic I started on it a couple of days ago. My local Guitar Center currently has one. Not sure of the designation on the label, but I think it is S771-CDGC. I know it was three or four letters after the S771.

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | I just bought the cedar top S771 I mentioned earlier in this string....stopped and looked at it 3 times in the past week, loved the sound, loved the price, and the guy at GC even threw in the OHSC for the $629 price!!!!
It has a smoother, richer, more bass-heavy sound than the regular spruce-top S771....GC had one I compared it with directly. I compared it to a 1777 Legend LX and a flame Elite T and the sound was more what I was looking for than either of them.
It has a abalone ring around the sound hole the regular S771 does not have.
The model number is GCS771-C, so I would gather this is a Guitar Center exclusive.

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada | In traditional (non-Ovation) guitars, classicals were usually made with spruce tops, while flamenco models were cedar, for a warmer, "darker" sound. |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | I've played some classicals with cedar tops and that played a part in my buying this Balladeer. The sound is very nice. Darker, too. I actually bought it with intent that I am going to use it for my "blues" guitar.
Brad, it may come sometime....but I think the Legends are primarily what I would bring to come play....and they still aren't in the same league with your ADII and Brian's Adamas! :D
