Location: Woodstock New York | Is the 5 piece neck on the Elites made over the past decade the same neck as the one made in the 70's on the Balladeers? I own a 1978 Custom Balladeer and would love to buy an Elite if it has the exact same neck. Thanks so much for any help or wisdom in this area. John |

Location: Scotland | The K-bar is more to do with how the neck attaches to the body. Before the K-bar Ovation used a pretty standard dovetail joint, similar to most other production guitars, whereas the K-bar allows the neck to be bolted to the body. In terms of stabilty, considering the number of pre K-bar Ovations I've seen with perfect necks, I think the traditional truss-rod necks are just as good. |
