Hello everyone. On page 99 of the History of the Ovation guitar book, there is a picture of Bill Kaman and Mark O' Conner playing 1986 collectors series guitars. I was wondering if Mark O'Connor ever endorsed Ovation guitars. He is such an incredible musician, and I don't see him play guitar that often. His violin playing is incredible. What a talent he is. Can anyone tell me if they ever saw Mark using an Ovation guitar? Thanks...Paul Hebert

I met Mark in 82 in North Carolina when he was playing with Doc Watson. We made him a super shallow adamas 12 string. We used him in the NAMM booth for a couple of years and did the 86 ad with him. He played the guitars for several years. His version of Amazing Grace uses Adamas #1500. Since then he's gotten busier, bigger, and more focused on violin.
Truely, one of the nicest people you ever want to meet. Absolutely scary the talent he has.

FYI:
There is an article in our local paper today about Mark. He's playing jazz with a trio, and the paper says that he plays it better than many lifetime jazz players.

I never saw Mark O'Conner with Doc Watson, that should have been a great pairing, did they record anything at the time?
