I have been thinking how sharp my bright golden toned Balladeer would look with gold machine heads! Anyone have an idea of the cost, or availability of gold toned Ovation hardware. I know the obvious answer is to contact the factory, but I like talkin with you guys :D !

Hey Norse(machine head switcher)man1
These gitters have been around long enough that there are many generations of keys. Make sure you get from the same age (design) so they'll just pop in. It's much easier not to have to redrill and all that.

Norse, I put gold machine heads on my white Custom Balladeer. They were the same schallers it had before, except they are gold plated. They went right in. I got them from Stew Mac. Also I got the gold with the ebony buttons. They look great against my Custom Balladeers black neck and headstock. I really like Schaller machine heads. Great stuff...Paul Hebert

Hey Norsey,
I slapped a set of pearloid buttons on my custom balladeer and they dressed it up real nice-looked good with all those diamond fret inlays. Not sure if this applies or not but that celebrity deluxe I used to have, had gold hardware that pitted real easily... not sure if it was from my sweaty hands and/or harsh Minnesota summer time humdity or both?? I just know it didn't take long...

I believe my Celeb had Ping tuners on it, not quite sure though...
