AJ asked me about how to set up a neck on his new Condor. The best way to ship to Oz is to separate the neck from the body.

At first I thought all they had was Buzzerds in OZ! Oh, well.

So I told him this:
Jim,

Yup, the allen stub up about a 5 cent piece (thick) and snug the four bolts.

Then run a straight edge across the frets and line it up to the bridge saddles, bridge should be in the lower position. Then string it up.

Set the Bridge distance (nut to 12th fret = 12th fret to saddle for the "G".

Tighten the strings to pitch and this should pull the neck into about 3 degrees of angle.

Then slowly tighten the bolts to ensure side and seating are correct. Archtops need to "set in" so you will be playing with this for a few days. Just remember that if you want to tighten the forward bolts to flatten out the neck you'll need to loosen the lower ones first.

When you change strings later do it one at a time.

Any corrections or add ons?
