I've earlier posted here looking for music or TAB for a song I need for my folk's Golden Anniversary. Having exhausted all means to come up with sheet music for 'If I Had To Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It With You" I have determined this music is unobtainable. I even went so far as to contact Roy Clark's publisher and Roy Clark, Ltd. in Oklahoma. No dice. Therefore I am in the process of reverse engineering the song. You might say reverse composing or De-composing... ;)

Anyways, I have determined it to be written in the key of E Major. I'm not real versed in chord theory and am doing this BGnBG (By Guess 'n By Golly) Two chords I've been able to match to the recording is E Major (naturally) and A Major. I'm having trouble deciphering the others. What other chords work in an E Major song?

Why don't you try "I'd do it all over again" by Alan Jackson?

ii:F#m
iii:G#m
IV:A

I've got a copy of the song. I'll try to work you up a lead sheet.

I got a music theory book for Christmas last year. I got to about the second page. My method of learning a song may only work for me, but I can hear the base run and can sing it. I then translate that to the guitar and generally can pick up the barre chords from that. Travis picking or other finger style methods usually require me to do the same translation for the melody line.
In other words, I can't explain it.

I retune my strings for each chord? Takes a lot of time to get through a song but it sounds GREAT!

And whatz a D#dim sounds like one a those new fangeled chords Cliff plays

Hey look down I got 4 aces on the table boys....Pay up!

Thanks Tim! I knew I'd seen this chart somewheres. This chart will find it's way into all my song binders next to the chord charts!

One question. How do you fret those little 'B's? Does that indicate a 'blue note'?

Not sure if your being sarcastic -- but the little b's indicate flat. So as an example, a Bb is a B flat chord.

Read and answered Buggs!

Here's a trivia question for when things get quiet around here. Name all Buggs's nemesises

Elmer Fudd

Yosemite Sam and his various iterations in different dress, but 'Sam' none the less. I think I remember a 'Chillicote' Sam, and an ep where he wore a British red coat ala Revalutionary War too.

Blaque Jaque Shelaque (one of the funniest eps)

Yes, I'm being a little sarcastic this a.m. I'm giddy with anticipation of finally making headway with 'I.I.H.T.D.I.A.O.A.I.D.I.W.Y." If all goes well I'll have my mom weeping in January. Maybe Dad too. :( Thanks again for the chart!
