Has anyone tied putting nylon classical strings on their guitar?
In theory they should work. The group I work with wants to try some latin numbers. I normally play my Tele and a classical sound would be more appropriate for the music.
Any feedback would be appreciated. |

Most nylon strings don't have enough tension to power the top, but whatever he was using did just fine. Saverez strings...don't remember the #.

I tried a 1st and 6th on my Balladeer Special S861. The 6th tuned up and sounded ok through my amp. The 1st at pitch sounded like a rubber band.
It actually looked like a piece of line from my weedwacker.
Question: Are the weedwacker stings tuned to concert pitch or higher?
The only classical guitar that I have ever owned was stolen after I had it for an hour, so I don't have a lot of experience with those guitars. |
