Ok, this will be a total waste of me to most of you but I thought, rather than post private and individual thanks, I would let everyone know, once again, what kind of people are among us here. To all of our members who tried to help me locate an old friend from Germany, Matthias has been located and, better yet, he's coming back over next week to visit his old friends (who, now ironically, are getting kinda old!).

To those interested, Matthias was a foreign exchange student who I became friends with almost 30 years ago and lost touch with afterwards. Despite many years of trying to hide from me ( ;) ), many of my friends here assisted me in locating him and, ultimately, I did finally get back in touch with him and he's coming over next week to see a bunch of the old crew and many of us, who thought we may never see or hear from him again, are very excited.

Thanks to all who were able to give me some time - it's very much appreciated. :D

When I was in high school, we had two foreign exchange students. Cesar, from Colombia, and a girl from Australia whose name I can't recall at the moment.

Cesar was a lot of fun. We learned much 'non-standard' Spanish from him and he had the best 'connections.' We taught him much more than he had hoped for (being the decadent American teens that we were). The girl from Australia...well, I learned about a lot more than Vegemite from her (but, like I said, her name escapes me...strange).

Oh, we also had a guy from Germany, but he lasted all of about three weeks before they sent him home. Turned out he was, shall we say, amorous with one of the offspring (same age group) of the hosting family, or some such.

Have fun reconnecting with your friend, Weaser!

Excellent.

Weaser had one friend who went into hiding and now you miscreants go and out him. Nice. Real Nice. Next you'll be exposing mob informants.

Thanks, guys. The wife and I went over to see him shortly after we married (almost 25 years ago) and lost touch shortly after. This week is going to be a real trip.

And I'll pass along your apologies, Jeff. ;)
