If you can't beat them, join them. Ethically I guess I dissaprove, but they've got me a few prizes. It's a bit like having sex with your prize heffer. Good fun, but you keep it to yourself. OOPS!

Nothing like the real thrill of watching the clock in the heat of passion and throwing that bid out at the wire!

It also is great as if I set a limit then the program just bids to my limit then says "Oh never mind I was out-bid". Me sadly I get enticed to up the ante :-) so all told I use it quite nicely.

There are also programs that you can install on your own box that will do the same thing.

Of course, being a newbie, I went to sleep before the auction ended thinking I had a good shot. I bid on another guitar recently and my winning bid held for a week. About five hours before auction ended someone placed three bids but did not beat my maximum. So I won, but the price was jacked up another $45. Not so bad though, still under my maximum. Now if I can get the seller to respond! Not sure what to think of Ebay although the one purchase I made (the squire strat) went smoothly enough. We will see on this one.
