Location: ITALY | Well... let's put it this way: I know what model I want - I'm sure of it!
Now, shall I buy it at the lowest price wherever it is (on the web, mail order, specific request to a shop, etc.) or only when I've got the "part" phisically?
In other words: are there differences from part to part even in the same model of the same collection of the same year....
What your experience about it? |

Location: south east Michigan | From my experience, I have seen more variation from model to model on the lower end guitars and less on the upper end. IMO some standard Elite, Balladeer, and EliteT models sound better than others of the same type. As you go up the model line, there are less variations.
During the Q & A session with Rick Hall at the last tour I asked him a question that touches on this subject. I asked if, for instance, does an Al DiMeola model come down the line the same as a Legend except for the name on the headstock? And what about custom orders?? Rick assured us that special guitars like the signature models and the collector models get special attention. Or... if it is a one of a kind, built to order guitar, it is watched over very carefully.
So..if the guitar you want is one of the higher end models you can be confident that they will be very close to being indentical. |
