The Kitchen Radio

This internet radio site came to my attention through the PS Audio newsletter I receive. I have been listening all morning and it is great. This is just a bit of the blurb taken from the newsletter.

What in the heck is Kitchen Radio? It's the best example I can think of for independent radio and will show you how good radio can be once again. Kitchen Radio plays music you've probably never heard before but you'll probably love. The music is all from original artists and there are over 4,000 selections to listen to. Kitchen radio is the brainchild of a Canadian musician by the name of Jason Valleau. The stream I choose is 128kbs and sounds exceptional. Jason uses no compression, is passionate about the audio quality and the music itself. Jason Valleau and I have been communicating and here's the story in Jason's words. 'I am an upright bass player in a band called The Polyjesters http://www.polyjesters.com with my brother Sheldon on ukulele. We have toured the world in this folky, swingy high energy band from Canada all throughout the States, Japan all the way to France and the UK. On the road around the world I have been exchanging CD's with hundreds of bands and artists and have developed a healthy collection of CD's and music. Four years ago I started the Kitchen Radio that was simply a random playlist featuring these artists 24 hours, 7 days a week. The stream grew in popularity despite no attempts at advertising or links from other sites. I applied several times for several months to be accepted into the iTunes Radio presets and after months was finally approved. This boosted the popularity sky high and with a back end administration control panel I am able to see the IP addresses that are listening and the geographical spectrum of listeners is mind boggling.'

Incredibly diverse so give it about 20 minutes before forming any opinions.

ENJOY!

They seem to ban porn, gambling, games and streaming, so it's one of those 4.

Thank god they don't ban guitars.
