The recession has kept me out of work for over a year and I need to raise some cash. My Adamas 2080 is for sale for $1,500 firm and I'll pay for shipping in the lower 48. The guitar is in excellent condition with very little wear on the cowboy frets. Case candy is included.

I can personally attest to the outstanding quality of the 2080. It's my #1 go-to guitar; tied with its fairly close cousin the OFC II.

You know how you go back and forth between guitars as you play them? I have about nine or so highish-end guitars and some middle- and low-end guitars. Of course, I take a break from the 2080 regularly to give the others some air time. EVERY time I take a break from the 2080 and come back to it, it's an indescribable joy.

My other guitars excel in different ways. The 2080 excels in all ways: tone, playability, volume, projection, balance, ruggedness.

I think that the one word for the 2080 is "balance." It's light to pick up, yet still has that rugged, solid feel that Ovation does so well. Its sound is consistently excellent from bottom to top. Well-rounded; not too bassy, not too trebly. All the way up and down the fretboard. It's deeply expressive at low volumes and plenty able to be bold and loud, punchy and unsubtle, if the need arises.

I WISH I had the money to buy this one...you know the old, old saying: "you can never have enough Adamas 2080's!" (Okay, maybe not all THAT old.)

It's just a GREAT guitar at a great price. Good luck with the sale! Someone's going to be very, very happy with this one.

Victor: best of luck with the job hunt! I know it's tough out there!

It is a wonderful instrument and I'm sure I'll experience sellers remorse.

At that price it is A STEAL!

If I did not have the OFC2 this would probably be headed to Denver.

I'm not a huge fan of the 2080, but everybody I know who has one, and I mean absolutely EVERYBODY, loves them. If you've ever thought about one, this is the time.....

I had one and absolutely loved it. Just wasn't real keen on it's provenance.

If I had the spare cash, I'd have one again. Unfortunately there's a small construction project in my budgetary future.
